We create our own anniversaries these days and in much shorter terms than years. Rituals are harder to find consistency within. Time becomes a tide engulfing us where it has been in the past an ever changing face we could look into and see ourselves. Now, looking back has a cost in that when we take our eyes off the road, we crash. I am still happy to swim in the tides of now, but miss the long minutes of the past where fireflies had our attention and the kitchen table, not the computer table, was the heart of the home.
